This is a great family place. The pictures of Shasta county give it a real "local" feel. The menu has about everything a family restaurant could offer. Good place for the kids.

Ordered take-out and was slightly disappointed on the wait. I my opinion it wasn't busy and I was overlooked twice before getting in my order. Food was fabulous and never have any complaints on the portions!!

Black bear diner is one of the better diners in Redding. Its claim to fame is the incredibly large portions you receive. The prices at first may seem a tad bit high, but once your food comes you will see you are getting quite a bit of bang for your buck.
The food is of a high quality for diner food. That is the standard breakfast menu, hamburgers, salads, sandwiches and a nice desert menu.
On the weekends this place has a wait, so if you roll out of bed at 10 am or later, prepare for a slight wait.
The menus are printed on newspaper quality paper and include historical facts of the local area as told through news items.
If a diner is what you are looking for you really cannot go wrong with the Black Bear.

This is a great place to have a hearty breakfast. The staff was attentive and really friendly. A fun place to go and it's family friendly.
