Leatherby's Family Creamery

Leatherby's is a great old fashioned ice cream shop. The portions are huge so splitting something is definitely an option. And you pay larger prices to get your larger portions. Overall it a great place to take the kids and split a banana split!!

Nice locally owned shop. Wish they still have the "Ice cream shop" deocr, but it was clean and looked like it could accomodate a large group. If you are bringing a large group I would call a few days in advance to help with staffing.

The place is perfect for taking the kids. Service is great and staff is friendly. Old building, but always appears really clean. The ice cream is amazing and takes me back to childhood. My husband's favorite is the black and tan. This is the way ice cream should be served. Portions are huge!

Always a good ice cream sundae! I love the black and tan, with toasted almond ice cream and caramel and hot fudge! The only two down falls is that sometimes they are understaffed so a larger group is a problem or sometimes randomly they will be closed on an evening that seams like the should be open, (like a 100 plus degree day in July)

So glad this place was purchased by current owner! It changed hands and got away from the old fashioned creamery road, but it is back. The owner and her family are really nice people. They serve up the largest portions you have ever seen of some of the most decadent ice cream deserts. Their strawberry shortcake is a favorite of mine and you should bring help if you plan on finishing off one of their concoctions.

Great place to stop by after leaving Marketfest or the Cascade theater. Nice to have good places like this located in downtown Redding. We all need to ensure that if we want a good downtown environment that we give our ice cream dollars to places like Leatherbys.
